Expecting mom refuses to tell her friend of 10 years her baby's name: 'Her response was to ask me why I thought she’d share that kind of information'

Everyone is so weird about baby names. There are only so many of them in the world, and every expecting mother on the planet is nervous that someone is going to steal hers. Somehow, parents always think they're being extremely original with their baby name, and end up naming their kid the same thing as all of the other parents having kids during the same time period. If you had a baby named Olivia in 2003 and thought that was going to be unique, you were in for an awakening.

Nobody can expect to name their baby something that has never been done before, but they can at least hope that their sister or best friend won't copy their baby's name. It would be somewhat awkward to have two cousins named Amelia in the same family, especially if they're around the same age. You would hope that the people in your life wouldn't act so petty, but becoming a parent can bring out the worst in some individuals. Parenting is a game they can win, and they will step on the people they love to win it. It sounds crazy, but the idea of Charlotte's baby name being stolen in SATC is way more common than you'd think.

The woman in this story is not expecting a child, but her friend is and is not keen on sharing her baby's name. While that's understandable, she communicated that to her friend in a highly unfriendly way, making her question whether this friendship is even worth it in the first place.
